here are some things that you should do:

• Lift Furniture from the floor and place on blocks
• Make sure drapes are not touching the floor 
• Open windows and doors if weather permits
• Remove any debris from the floor
• Make sure electricty is turned off

and here are things you should avoid:

• Removing furniture
